Leased Line

Leased line is referred to as a private line. A leased line is obtained from a communications company (NTL) to provide a transmission medium between two points. The line consists of a permanent dedicated circuit between two points, or to set of previously arranged points. The cost of the line is usually based on the distance between locations. This is in contrast to switched or dial-up lines, which can be connected to any point on the network.

This also refers to a phone line that is rented for exclusive 24-hour, 7 days a week use from your location to another location. The highest speed data connections require a leased line. WorldLink will provide a pair of Tainet Xstream 1300 DSL modems which will be used to pass data over the copper leased-line that has been provided by the Telecommunication Company. This brand of modem is the most widely deployed in Nepal and have a flawless track record. The data circuit will connect the Client to WorldLink’s POP in one of NTC’s Exchange. The quality and capacity of data transfer and Internet browsing will depend upon the bandwidth subscribed. There are various ranges of bandwidth that can be chosen according to the user’s need and requirement.
